Not at all. Our Fundamental Marionette Carving Workshop is designed for complete beginners. We start with wood selection and basic tool handling, then move through traditional carving principles at a pace that works for everyone.

It varies depending on your design and detail level, but most participants complete their first marionette head within a single intensive workshop (typically 2–3 days). More refined work naturally takes longer, and that's where the real skill develops.

We provide all carving tools, wood blanks, sandpaper, and finishing materials. You'll learn how to select and prepare your own materials too, so you can continue carving at home after the course.

Absolutely. Our Puppet String Assembly and Manipulation Course stands on its own. You can bring a head you've already carved, or we can provide one so you can focus entirely on learning body framework, articulation points, and string attachment techniques.

Yes. Our workshops are conducted in English to welcome students from all backgrounds. The hands-on nature of puppet carving and stringing means a lot of learning happens through demonstration and practice anyway.

You'll have created something real—a marionette head or an assembled puppet. We provide guidance on continuing your craft at home and recommend resources for the next steps, whether that's painting techniques, advanced carving, or building control bars.
